☀️ How Our Solar On-Grid System Works

A solar on-grid system is directly connected to the electricity grid.
When your solar panels generate power, it is first consumed by your home; any excess power flows into the grid and earns credit units through net metering.

Step-by-step working:

Sunlight → Electricity:
Solar panels convert sunlight into DC (Direct Current) electricity.
DC to AC Conversion:
A String Inverter converts DC into AC (Alternating Current), suitable for home use.
Power Distribution:
Electricity runs household appliances first; surplus goes to the grid.
Net Metering:
The Net Meter tracks import (power taken) and export (power sent).
At the end of each billing cycle, you pay only for the net consumption.

Protection Units:

ACDB/DCDB (ABB, Phoenix), Meters (L&T, Secure) for safety and performance monitoring.

⚡ Performance & Generation

1 kW system generates 4–5 units per day (average 120–150 units per month).

🧹 Operation & Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures maximum solar generation efficiency.

1️⃣ Cleaning:

Clean panels once every 15-30 days (more frequent in dusty areas).
Use a soft brush and RO or clean water — avoid hard bristles or high-pressure jets.
Avoid cleaning during peak sunlight; morning or evening is ideal.

2️⃣ Safety Precautions:

Never touch live wires or inverter cables.
Always switch off AC/DC isolators before cleaning or inspection.
Use rubber gloves and insulated footwear during maintenance.
Schedule periodic electrical checks by certified technicians.

3️⃣ Fault Handling:

Low Generation Alerts: Check for panel shade or dust accumulation.
Inverter Error: Refer to inverter display or monitoring app; contact EcoStar service support.
Grid Failure: System shuts down automatically — no back-feed to grid for safety.

🔁 Net Metering Process

Application Submission:
EcoActis assists with net meter documentation & DISCOM approvals.
Meter Installation:
Bi-directional net meter replaces the existing energy meter.
Unit Tracking:
Measures imported (grid use) & exported (solar sent) electricity.
Bill Settlement:
- If export > import → credit carried forward.
- If import > export → pay only the difference.
